Free mobile IT seminar

19 May 2011

Business owners and managers in Hull and the Humber region will be able to learn more about how to exploit remote and mobile technology to manage their business more efficiently at an event to be held on Wednesday 11th May 2011 by the region’s IT & Telecoms business-to-business network techmesh.

The event, which is in collaboration with the Chartered Management Institute, is from 5:30pm to 8:30pm in the Circle Room at KC Stadium in Hull.

Guest speakers will include Iqbal Robun, Solutions Specialist for Research in Motion (RIM), a global leader in wireless innovation, giving a fascinating overview of how they expect their latest product, the Blackberry Playbook, the world’s first professional tablet, to change the way we do business.

Andy Lake, editor of flexibility.co.uk, the online journal of flexible working, will provide an insight into realising the benefits of flexible working, including looking at the proposed benefits of flexible working, reducing business costs and meeting staff aspirations. The presentation will examine people, property and technology issues and highlight where things go wrong as well as where they achieve the benefits, with findings from case studies and the latest research.

The Director of Propalms, Owen Dukes, will be showcasing a suite of software products that allow mobile and home workers to access data in a secure manner. He will also show how they enable the external delivery of centrally managed applications and Windows desktops, to any type of device.

Helen Silverman, membership development manager at techmesh, commented, “We are extremely excited about the mobile IT event. It will provide companies with a good perspective of how today’s business world is developing to meet the demands of its workforce.”

The seminar, sponsored by techmesh member The Weston Group, is free of charge to attend for members, associates, sponsors and Chartered Management Institute members. Non-member attendees will receive their first event free of charge.
