Course outline:
Day 1
Planning and Building customised screen layouts
Day one is primarily focused on building customised screens and layouts. Various layouts are examined with several being used in the development of a working application that forms the focus of Day 2. As part of day 1 development, themes and styles are introduced that will allow a developer to customise the look and feel of an application.
Day 2
Integrating with the phone
Day two follows on from our working layouts produced on Day 1, where the focus of our attention is on producing a working application that utilises several features of android phones. The application will make use of local storage and network resources.
Day 3
Building Games
Day 3 shifts the focus to games based development, with particular emphasis paid to drawing graphics, playing audio and recognising user input through the accelerometer and touch screen
Day 4
Using Location Based Data
As the title suggests, day 4 deals with the integration of location based data into an Android application. It will demonstrate ways of collecting location data and how this can then be used in any application you intend to develop.
