Accelerate seedcamp event

The Accelerate! programme is run by Cartezia, the technology business building company, for commercialising ideas and
technology from the Departments of Computer Science and Electronics at the University of York.
Cartezia brings the expertise and skills essential to create and build a number of new technology businesses from the research
work performed at York.
The seedcamp follows a very successful business building workshop run in Nov 2010 to equip post-graduates and research scholars from the Departments of Computer Science and Electronics with key skills and practical insights to take technology-based ideas to market. The Accelerate! workshop also helped identify a number of commercialisation opportunities. Cartezia is now working actively to create new businesses from these opportunities.
The next programme planned as part of Accelerate! is a seedcamp style event scheduled for March 15th, 2011 at the Department of Computer Science at the University of York.
The Accelerate! Seedcamp is aimed at two groups of people. One, researchers from the University of York considering commercialisation of their work. Two, entrepreneurs from the local ecosystem at York looking to accelerate the development of their business ideas and ventures.
The Accelerate! Seedcamp offers the opportunity for researchers to explore commercialisation as a possible option for their research work and for entrepreneurs from the local ecosystem to help develop their ventures and to connect with talent from the University of York.
